The vision for the Shri Venkateshwara Temple has been a deeply cherished aspiration for decades. Sirigiri Trust Chairman Indra Sirigiri, who initiated the Project, said that it represents the fulfilment of a familial dream spanning more than thirty years, a dream echoed and amplified by the collective yearning of the broader Hindu community for even longer. His commitment to finding the perfect location was unwavering, leading him to visit over 100 potential sites before ultimately selecting the Ramarama property.
Mr Sirigiri explained the profound significance of the chosen site, noting its striking resemblance to the revered Temple of Lord Venkateshwara in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, India.
“The topography of the Ramarama site is similar to that of the Temple of the Lord in Tirumala, sloping from North East to South West. Our Temple will be located in the basin of the Valley as in Tirumala. These and other issues to bring about similarities with the Temple of Lord Venkateshwara in Auckland is at hand.”
